Transmission
Transmission
means transfer or movement of something from one place to another place. In past
pigeons were used to transfer the message from one place to the other. With the
changing of time another source is used a man that had horse take a message and
go to the place personally where the message is dropped. After that a post
office is developed and also the transport facility had introduced a man who
wants to transfer his message from one place to the other set his envelop in
the post boxes. A currier
boy picks that envelops and transfer that messages to the destination.
In the world of computer we will discuss how to transfer data from one
place to the other through network computer.
A computer network is design for transmission of data from
one computer to the other. In this transmission process the transmission media
is involved. Some transmission media are described below:
- Wires
- Switches
- Routers
- Modems
These are the most commonly used transmission mediums.
Data or information that are transfer can be many kinds.
Because the computer is use highly basis in the world on banking to the
transfer of the cash. In property issues the computer is used commonly. People
use computer for shopping connecting with the friends and family. That’s why we
used many kinds of data or information in computer. Some of which are given
below:

Know the first question that is raised in mind is how this data or information is transfer
from one computer to the other.
Answer of this question is:
Information
is transfer in the form of electromagnetic signals. This information is need to
be converted to the digital signals or analog signals.
Signals can be
digital or analog
Analog signals:
Analog
signal has continuous value and infinite many levels of intensity over a period
of time. As the wave move from point 0 to the point 4 it is passes through and
includes an infinite number of values along its path. As shown below:
Example:
When a person speak a continuous wave is created these
signals are analog signals.
Digital Signal:
Digital
signal has discrete value. On the other hand, can have only a limited number of
defined values . Although each value can be any number, it is often as simple
as 1 and 0.
Example:
Data in a computer memory are stored in digital form like 1s
and 0s.
Information is transfer form:
- Digital-Digital conversion:
This
technique is used to convert digital data to the digital signal. To accomplished
the digital conversion three techniques are used
1.
Line Code
2.
Block code
3.
Scrambling
- Digital-Analog conversion:
This technique is used to convert digital data to analog signal. To
accomplished analog conversion two techniques
1.
Analog modulating process
2.
Resultant analog process
